News from Emily’s Class:

November 13, 2013

The Geology classes visited Marengo Cave. Some
students walked through the large caverns with
amazing calcite formations, while the majority chose
the “underground adventure” and explored a smaller,
muddier and darker cave system. Extra thanks to
parent Sonia Burdeshaw for being willing to drive all
that way and get that muddy!
Science Research Seminar students have all begun
their experiments and are now trying to figure out
how best to collect their data. They have lots of
seeds growing and flies hatching, testing the effects
of everything from wireless routers to juglone, the
allelopathic chemical in black walnuts.
In the fifth period First Aid and CPR course, students
have begun by learning to provide care to unconscious
adults, children and infants.
