Overnight Trips

Programs often take extended trips in the fall and in the spring. Last year the middle school, for example, traveled to Columbus, Indiana and stayed at the Columbus Youth Camp where they developed more team building skills as they were challenged by the grounds course and the high ropes course. They also took in some of the modern architecture of Columbus and the Columbus skate park.

Both the middle school and the third and fourth grade class visited St. Louis in the spring. The City Museum, the Magic House, the Botanical Gardens with the beautiful Japanese gardens and the Arch were all big hits. The fifth and sixth graders took their annual spring trip to Camp Palawopec in Brown County and the high school went to Savannah, Georgia that included several days of biking for those who were interested and a visit to the ocean.

There is an extra charge for these trips. Parents are notified of the amount ahead of time. The school rents vans for these trips, which increases the cost, but students prepare their own meals in an attempt to keep the price of trips more reasonable. If students have difficulty paying for the trip, arrangements can be made. No one is excluded from the trip because of inability to pay. Everyone is encouraged to go on trips.
