Harmony School Curriculum

Trips

About Trips | Beginning of the year trip| Field trips | Overnight Trips

Trips are a very important part of the curriculum:

  • They broaden and enrich the curriculum.
  • They give students experiences that they don’t get in the classroom such as how to budget ones money while traveling.
  • They provide the students with common experiences that give them a sense of cohesion.
  • They allow for more choices for students, since students often select which places they want to visit.
  • They give students practice in planning, since students often sign up for classes in which they research places to go and make trip proposals based on their study.
  • Often students go places where they have never been and may not ever have the opportunity to go.
  • Students learn that they can function away from their families.
  • Because they have to look after their own things and make their own decisions, students become more responsible.
  • Teachers are able to be learners too as they explore along with their students.
  • Everyone has lots of fun together.
