Trips are a very important part of the curriculum:
- They broaden and enrich the curriculum.
- They give students experiences that they dont
get in the classroom such as how to budget ones money while traveling.
- They provide the students with common experiences that
give them a sense of cohesion.
- They allow for more choices for students, since students
often select which places they want to visit.
- They give students practice in planning, since students
often sign up for classes in which they research places to go and
make trip proposals based on their study.
- Often students go places where they have never been
and may not ever have the opportunity to go.
- Students learn that they can function away from their
families.
- Because they have to look after their own things and
make their own decisions, students become more responsible.
- Teachers are able to be learners too as they explore
along with their students.
- Everyone has lots of fun together.
