Each year Harmony School participates in special events that allow students and teachers from all the programs to interact with each other in meaningful ways and share important curricular experiences. Social Action Day occurs on Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday every year. The other special events – Art day, Science/Math/Technology Day, Multicultural Day are usually offered one a year on a rotating basis. There is also some kind of observation of Earth Day each year.
Harmony School graduates often refer to these special days when they talk about their memories of Harmony. These days stand out in their minds as times when the whole community – students, teachers and parents – come together in fun ways to connect and explore together as they reach out to learn from and share with the larger community.
