Harmony School Curriculum

Harmony School Multicultural Day

student and teacherGoals of multicultural study:

  • To familiarize children with cultures that are different from their own and help them feel comfortable being with others
  • To start with cultures that are represented at our school, so that those students will be affirmed and will have an opportunity to share their cultures
  • To work side by side with people from other cultures to develop a presentation and in so doing establish a deeper relationship with people from a different part of the world
  • To celebrate our diverse world
  • To help students as they mature to be able to take on another’s perspective
  • Ultimately to help students interact with people who think differently from them in a way that new solutions to problems and new possibilities are created because everyone is able to hold his own views gently and work together to create something new
