The high school science curriculum is presented as a series of semester-long electives that cover the range traditional science topics in more depth. To meet the Indiana Core 40 graduation requirements, students can choose among various lab credits in physical and life sciences. Each course focuses on the application of the scientific method in the context of a particular topic or discipline, as well as giving students the opportunity to explore topics in depth that relate to current issues and technologies. Courses are not offered in a set sequence in order for students to have the flexibility to choose topics that most interest them (although there is an Algebra 2 pre-requisite to take Chemistry and Physics).
