Ninth Grade American English students continue with vocabulary skills enhancement this semester on Mondays and Fridays; on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, my student teacher, Mary Flegler, teaches writing skills. Mary is completing her requirements for a Masters in Secondary Education through the excellent IU Community of Teachers program. She is beginning her unit with The House on Mango Street. She will be supplementing my other classes as well as teaching her own fifth period class focusing on several venues of creative and academic writing.
Our current chapter in Greek & Latin Roots discusses different words describing styles and habits of talking and speaking. And then, we will study diverse words that bless or curse.
Depth Psychology seems always to be taken by intuitive types (according to Myers-Briggs). This remains a mystery to me over the years, but not really. We begin respectfully with Drs. Joseph Breuer, Sigmund Freud, Carl G. Jung and Parsifal, as well as Mesmerism, dreams, the talking cure and this new science’s four waves in the twentieth century.
