News From Emily:

October 10, 2013

The school year began with the fastest ever bike ride out to McCormick’s Creek. Special thanks to new parent David Shumway for riding with us and keeping up with those speedy cyclists! We lucked out again with beautiful weather for the rides both there and back; congrats to all the riders who completed the 18 miles to the park. The topographic features at McCormick’s Creek were the perfect introduction to my Geology courses. The sinkholes, cliffs, waterfall and quarry will inform our initial discussions of land formations and geologic time. Research Seminar will begin with discussions of experimental design and explorations of potential paper topics.
